Free knitting pattern which I designed : )

I was recently contacted by a lovely customer who wanted a hat sized for a newborn baby, based on a (adult-sized) hat I currently have in my shop. Look how tiny it turned out!

I just published the Classic Cable Beanie - which is exactly what the name suggests, a classic style of beanie with vertical cables.

I'm delighted to have this new pattern ready to share - the Aran Lattice Beanie features criss-cross narrow cables, which create a wonderful texture (and is much easier to knit than it looks!)

It's a very rainy night here, so what better time to get online and try something new again! I've started a Tumblr blog, under the name AranAccessories. I am a complete newbie to Tumblr, so if anyone has any advice it would be most welcome!

I've been lucky to enjoy (mostly!) wonderful weather while I've been back on Inis Oírr! I'll be restocking my shop very soon with lots of great knits I've been working on.

I thought I'd share with you some of the beautiful wild flowers I saw on my walk yesterday on Inis Oírr. They grow wild on the road verges. A different one every few steps!

I'm delighted to add another beanie hat pattern; a simplified version of the Small Spiral Cable Beanie which would make a great cabling project for beginners. Only one circular knitting needle needed, and (if you play your yarn cards right!) only one skein of yarn (but make sure that yarn has about 100 metres!)
